 Take a moment to think about what you want to focus on in the session, whether it's a specific issue or general emotional state.

Express Your Feelings

Quickly write down any emotions, thoughts, or events from the past week that may be relevant for discussion.

Imagine Success

Imagine having a positive and productive conversation, setting the mental stage for the session. 

Recall a Key Memory

 Briefly identify a past memory or feeling you’d like to work on in EMDR. Think about how it makes you feel in the present moment and be ready to explore it.
 

Center Yourself

 Take a moment to ground yourself before the session by paying attention to your surroundings. Notice the sensations of your feet on the floor, your hands in your lap, and your breath. This helps to stay present and calm during the EMDR process.

    If you’ll be doing a Walk + Talk session, here are a few things to keep in mind:
    Choose a safe, quiet place where you can walk and talk freely—whether that’s your neighborhood, a nearby park, or even a treadmill at home. For the best experience, please:

    • Make sure your phone is fully charged
       
    • Connect your earbuds or headphones ahead of time
       
    • Check that your signal is strong enough for a phone or video call
       
    • Dress comfortably and bring water if you’ll be outdoors
       
    • Map out your walk ahead of time—familiar paths are best so we can focus on your goals, not your GPS
       

    This is your time to move through both your thoughts and your environment with intention. I’m looking forward to walking with you.
