She is deeply trained in all aspects of mental health and maintains an established and actively full private practice. Dr. Thompson is in her 13th year as an Associate Faculty member with University of Phoenix . She teaches courses on self-care for helping professionals and has been nominated Faculty of the Year three years in a row, 2020, 2021 and 2022. She is in her 20th year as a consultant for Southern Methodist University (SMU), Perkins School of Theology. She is the author of a best selling workbook Infidelity Recovery Workbook for Couples: Tools and Exercises to Rebuild Your Relationship.
